I can’t remember where I read this, but it works perfectly.

A genius way to filter out all the unimportant (but not necessarily unwanted) email that you get is to create a filter that searches for the word unsubscribe. Generally the only emails that contain that word are newsletters, mailing list messages, and spam. Send all of those emails to a single folder (I called mine “Newsletters”) and you can read them when you want to, rather than having them pop up in your inbox all of the time.
